1 /5 Julianna Lollar: I’m not one to usually leave a review… but even after speaking to the manager, we still felt like there were issues with our service today.
We got there around 12:30 on a Thursday. A time that would usually be a little slow. The restaurant was mostly empty. There were a few sporadic tables but not many. Upon arrival, the host said “hey” “just 2?” And we said yes and he walked us over to the bar section. He laid the menus down on the table and said “here ya go” and then returned to the host stand and played on his phone. As a server/host, this wasn’t the best seating experience but by far not the worst. However, that was just the beginning of our experience.
We sat down and waited for our server to greet us. It was about 10 minutes later when she greeted us and asked for our drinks. She brought our drinks and then about another 10 minutes later brought the bread and asked for our food order. We ordered potato skins as an app and then two of the Logan plates. 10-15 minutes later, our food came out but we had yet to receive our potato skins. She laid down our food and did not make a comment about the potato skins, leading me to believe that she had forgotten to ring them up. She circled back and we asked about the app and she said “yeah they never put them up. Let me go check on that.” She went back into the kitchen and was gone for about 15 minutes and then came back with the app.
We went ahead and started eating our entrees while waiting for the app to come out. The food was awful. And I say that with a heavy heart. I understand that things happen. There have been times where I’ve had to serve subpar food quality due to various reasons… but this was worse than bad. I ordered my steak medium and my mom ordered hers medium well. When they arrived, mine said medium and hers said medium rare. To keep from making it a big deal, we just swapped steaks. But after cutting into them, we realized they had no color at all and appeared to be precooked and then put on the grill to bring it up to temperature. The seasoning was so subtle that there was no flavor on the steak. We even asked about this with the manager and he agreed that they looked gray and under seasoned. Since we had been there so long, we decided to forgo the option of getting a new steak. The sides were great! My broccoli was well cooked and seasoned and my mom’s sweet potato was great!
The manager came half way through us eating to deliver the potato skins. He noticed our distain for our steaks and offered to take our appetizer off. This was something that was already discussed prior when the app was forgot about. He walked away before we had the chance to comment about the free app.
Once we received the bill, we noticed there was a promotion for $8.99 taken off. The potato skins were $9.99 so I assume that was what was taken off but it wasn’t even the right amount discounted. We waited around for another 10-15 minutes to have our server take our payment. She brought boxes and we decided just to take the steaks home and season them and grill them ourselves.
While we were eating, another table showed up. After waiting 15 minutes to be greeted, they left frustrated. The host was playing on his phone and even walked over and took a phone call in the bar section. The bartender/server (Aundrea I believe her name was?) was slow and seemed as though she did not want to be there. The manager had a mediocre attitude and also seemed as though he hated his job.
Overall, a bad experience. 10/10 would not recommended.
