4 /5 Mike Adkins: My wife and I found Hokkaido here on Maps. She likes sushi, Im more of a hibachi guy. My wifes sushi was very good, according to my wife, who I wouldnt dream of disagreeing with. I had the Steak hibachi and I can tell you that it was definitely very good. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was very tasty, but didnt overwhelm the bites of steak. The same sauce was on the veggies they were delicious. The fried rice wasnt crowded with additional veggies, making the flavor of the fried rice come through. In short, my meal was excellent.
For both meals, portions were generous. I was able to have my leftovers for dinner. Our server was great. He was attentive without being annoying. That in itself is a rare thing
Prices werent cheap, but for the quality, flavors, and portion size, well worth the price.
Atmosphere was perplexing. Not bad, just unusual. The decor is authentic. The music wasnt too loud, but Ive never heard hip hop in a Japanese restaurant. Im not complaining about it, I just found it odd. Im not a fan of TVs in restaurants. They had a daytime talk show on. The guest that Dat was the original Honey Boo Boo. Eehhh.
Over all, its definitely on our "go back" list. If you havent tried Hokkaido, you are late.
