Hokkaido Restaurant - Evans (GA)

4 /5 Mike Adkins: My wife and I found Hokkaido here on Maps. She likes sushi, Im more of a hibachi guy. My wifes sushi was very good, according to my wife, who I wouldnt dream of disagreeing with. I had the Steak hibachi and I can tell you that it was definitely very good. I asked for medium rare on the steak and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was very tasty, but didnt overwhelm the bites of steak. The same sauce was on the veggies they were delicious. The fried rice wasnt crowded with additional veggies, making the flavor of the fried rice come through. In short, my meal was excellent. For both meals, portions were generous. I was able to have my leftovers for dinner. Our server was great. He was attentive without being annoying. That in itself is a rare thing Prices werent cheap, but for the quality, flavors, and portion size, well worth the price. Atmosphere was perplexing. Not bad, just unusual. The decor is authentic. The music wasnt too loud, but Ive never heard hip hop in a Japanese restaurant. Im not complaining about it, I just found it odd. Im not a fan of TVs in restaurants. They had a daytime talk show on. The guest that Dat was the original Honey Boo Boo. Eehhh. Over all, its definitely on our "go back" list. If you havent tried Hokkaido, you are late.

4 /5 Anna Guzman: Ambience was fantastic! Great customer service. I had the Rangoons and a California roll which was tasty. My other half had spicy crab roll and tuna avocado roll. The spicy crab was delicious and will get again. The tuna was good too, his rolls came with a soup. Will return again!

2 /5 Robert Hughes: My girlfirend and I did not have a good experience here. The service was subpar and the sushi / rolls were mediocre at best. To start, we had to ask for chopsticks at a sushi restaurant. That was weird. Next, our wine glasses came wet with water dripping down them like they were removed from the washer and served without an attempt to dry them. For a water cup this might go unnoticed but for glasses of nice wine, this was unacceptable. Next, there was very little follow-up of service and we had to ask multiple times for items. Last, the sushi and rolls were not bad, but very little flair or flavor to make it stand out. From the proposed atmosphere and the pricing, the service and food did not even closely match the tab to be frank. I only bumped this to 2 stars vs 1 star for the simple fact that I believe 99% of the frustration was service. If the service and interaction was improved, I could see the overall experience being a 4 star. Hopefully management reads this and takes this as constructive criticism to improve their restaurant.
