4 /5 Debrann Mitchel: My husband, toddler granddaughter, and I enjoyed dinner at Gladys’ restaurant this Sunday and were treated to a delightful experience.
Although small, the restaurant is designed with an additional level for expanded seating, which my small family enjoyed.
As to the menu, there are three protein offerings. This day baked chicken, fried chicken, and smothered pork chops were served. The sides included rice and dressing, as well as several vegetables, such as stewed tomatoes and okra, collards, macaroni and cheese, and black-eyed peas. Cornbread muffins and cornbread pancakes were also served. Banana pudding and red velvet cake were offered for dessert.
It was easy to tell the favorites because the trays were near empty, like the Mac and cheese, the dressing, and the fried chicken.
We tried everything except for the dressing, mac and cheese, and smothered chops and it was all delicious.
The service was somewhat slow, but the staff was attentive and friendly, especially the owner Ms. Tracia Tullis, who assisted us to our table, and checked on us throughout.
Although we were just passing through, we may make Gladys’ Kitchen a regular stop on this particular route.
