5 /5 Taia B: Dined at Consuelo during Gainesville’s First Fridays and loved every bite. As someone who recently moved from NJ, I’ve been impressed by the Mexican cuisine in Georgia—Consuelo stands out.
Just off the town square, the restaurant has a sleek, modern vibe. We shared a bottle of red wine (reasonably priced), and the food was fresh and flavorful. The chicken enchiladas verdes were hearty and delicious, chips and guac were spot-on, and the empanadas hit the mark. We ended with their Tres Leches cake—light, sweet, and topped with berries.
Our waitress was friendly and fun, even packed up our wine so we could enjoy the rest in the square. Great food, great service—definitely worth a visit.
