2 /5 Serenity Johnson: I ordered a to-go meal from Applebee’s and was super disappointed this time around. I got the BOGO wings deal—boneless garlic parmesan and bone-in wings—and it just wasn’t worth the $17 (including tax). The garlic parm boneless wings barely had any garlic flavor. It literally looked like plain boneless wings with cold shredded cheese thrown on top. No sauce, no real flavor. The only thing that saved them was ranch, but the ranch was so watery and came in such a small cup, I ran through it after just 3 wings and had to use my own.
Also, paying $17 for 9 bone-in wings with no side or drink is wild. At that price, I could’ve gotten a full 12-piece meal with fries and a drink somewhere else.
Another issue: I placed my order at 3:35 and it said it would be ready by 3:55. I didn’t get my food until 4:20. Every single time I order to-go from Applebee’s, I end up waiting in my car for 20+ minutes. The app just says to pull into a spot. I doesn’t say I need to call or contact anyone, but it does leave contact options just in case. They should definitely add an “I’m here” button in the app. It would make pickup way smoother because nobody ever comes out unless I call, and that part gets frustrating.
The customer service from the workers was actually good once I got my food, but everything else needs improvement. My food is usually solid and reasonably priced, but this time was a letdown.
I don’t think i’ll be returning to this establishment until they make adjustments.
