1 /5 Tommy Hewitt: A very expensive lesson to buying a home. At the height of the home bidding wars, I purchased a home from KOTU, Inc. which is co-owned by Shirley Watson and Thomas Kutay. Shirley is a registered Real Estate agent in Georgia. Mr. Kutay purchases and remodels the homes while Shirley closes the deals. My mistake was rushing from excitement and not having a home inspection conducted. The VA appraiser does not inspect the roof. The sellers stated that the roof was 2 years old and I took their word. After moving into the home, we had roof leak issues, the washer is not connected to a pipe so the water is draining behind the wall and causing a possible mold issue, the ceilings are cracking while the ceiling sheet rock is leaking from the roof. Ive had 4 roofers look at the roof and they all agree that it needs to be repaired or replaced costing me from $3500 to $8700 which I do not have and insurance will not pay. I reached out to the sellers(Shirley and Thomas) and after sending over a handyman to look at the roof, the phone calls stopped and they will not answer my call. The only thing I need is for them to provide the warranty on the so called 2 year old roof. They will not provide this document for some reason. I agree with the other people posting a review about not responding. 2 weeks after closing, I called to follow up them filing a deed to add my wife but they never returned my call. Something is definitely going on with their customer service skills and it may be associated with Black buyers. Being in a town this small where everybody knows each other, it can be easy to get railroaded or blacklisted so be careful. They know the law and will use it to take money from innocent people. DO NOT CLOSE A LOAN THERE OR BUY A HOME FROM THOMAS KUTAY and Shirley Watson.
