1 /5 Dechelle Lindsey: When shopping around for a contempt of court case, a mutual Friend suggested Susan Brown. I read the reviews online and was skeptical, but my friend assured me that she would fight for me and do a great job. When I told Susan I didnt have any money left after my divorce she said that she only charges $2,242.00 for contempt of court and that includes her fees and filing fees. Fast forward 6 months and I could tell that she had not listened to my requests at all and failed to address 3 items that I specifically asked her to on top of making my ex husband pay for all of my fees. She did collect money from my ex that day, but instead of reimbursing me $2,242.00, she decided to keep his money and my money. After the contempt of court case I had to ask her 3 times for a bill in the hopes that I would bring attention to the fact that she needed to reimburse me for my deposit now that she has her payment from my ex. Once I received her first and only bill (that I had to beg for) not only did she fudge the numbers to look like she had earned the $2,242.00 AND the $3,500.00 my ex paid her on court day, she had the audacity to add a balance due of $2,024.74. The same bill that I had to ask her 3 times for and not once did she ever mention that the case was going to cost a penny over $2,242.00.
