2 /5 Watchful Weg: I have mixed feelings about this firm, as my initial interaction with them (only with Heller himself-- name-barrer of firm) was very encouraging, positive, and what I paid for. However, the next time I retained the firm (expecting same experience) I was deeply disappointed.
My case was handled not by Heller himself but his associate John Weschler who was extremely impersonable and rude, frankly. It seemed that my case was completely ignored until the week of appearance and when I dared question plan/approach or ask for reassurance from the lawyer that I paid & trusted to handle my case, I was told "Im not your psychiatrist" and "I wont even entertain that" as responses to why retaining the firm ultimately mattered, as I was offered the same exact deal without representation and couldnt understand what was the benefit of paying the firm if negotiation didnt happen or was poorly done.
The boil down is: save your money or retain a different firm unless you can be guaranteed to work directly with Heller. However, its notable that as the name-barrer of the firm he didnt respond to my requests to speak to him instead of his associate, even after he understood there was complaint. It would seem as the firm owner his choice of associates or at least his care when those chosen associates destroy client trust would be greater.
So: choose a different law firm; this one is not worth your energy and money, especially if you are already stressed about legal proceedings.
