1 /5 Erica Martinez Jimenez: My mother does not speak good English. It has never been a problem. We have been customers of this Ameris bank for YEARS! Never has she experienced anything like this. She called me to translate for her after the lady was being extremely rude to her. At first, she went to get her check cashed in like she does EVERY FRIDAY. they always give it to her in an envelope. Today, they did not; the teller threw the money and coins at my mom. When she asked for an envelope, the teller then yelled at her “YOU WANT AN ENVELOPE?!” My mom said yes and the envelope was also thrown at her. She then used google translate to ask her how much she had in her savings, because her paper statements stopped coming to the mail for some reason. The teller did not acknowledge the google translate and told her she didn’t know what she was talking about?? She was refusing to attend my mother at this point. My mom then calls me to translate and ask that for her. I am so disappointed in this company for allowing such people like this to work here. It’s 2025, I’m sure most companies have translators on the line they can call and use. Even then, my mother was using google translate to try to communicate with this lady and she wasn’t having it! I just tried calling Ameris in Cairo and manager is not in and I was transferred to the President and I was sent straight to voicemail. This is not okay !
