theresa miller Gilmer Arts and Heritage Association is a real gem! Whether you enjoy music, theater or art you can find it there! The gallery is very nice and the exhibits change on a regular basis. There is always something new to see. The BEST series brings wonderful music to Ellijay too! The center also offers classes for all ages...painting, jewelry making, instrument lesson too! This place is a must see in Ellijay!

Ibanez Victor Choosing one star because I cant select zero. Valley Point Elementary is a disgusting and unsafe school. The teachers gossip about the kids and parents without discretion. They need a lesson in FERPA. They hide things that happen with the kids under the rug. If it’s a parent supposedly causing the issue, they call the SWAT team in unless you are white American. When you call the school or the school board to complain, they pretty much do nothing. There are roaches, spiders, and all kinds of bugs in the cafeteria, bathroom, and classrooms. The school is run-down, old, and dirty. Last week there was a dead roach in the lunch line. I had to ask a staff member to clean it up, otherwise it would have probably just stayed there. If you have dead roaches in the cafeteria, there is a possibility you have roaches getting in the food. Also, most of the staff are racist, liars, unprofessional, uneducated, and hypocrites. I would have included ignorant but that gives them an excuse to behave the way they do. If you can register them elsewhere, please do.

Tabitha Simmons I went to do a tour here to consider daycare services. Upon arrival the building looked very outdated/old and the entrance is rough. Once I got in I noticed the dirty floor it has not been swept. They have a small play area at the entrance and there was dirty tissues on the floor in there. My child would have been in the 3 year olds. When I asked about the teacher in there I was informed that one has been there 3 months and the other one has been there for only one month. The director did not offer to show me around other than the 3 year old classroom. Once we got into the 3 year old classroom the teacher in there did not engage with me or my child. I asked if they go outside and the director told me we are supposed to but we get around that bc its too cold so the kids are not taken outside. Since I wasnt offered a full tour I asked to see the outside area she didnt look to happy to show me. She had me view the outside area from her office window. I was shocked to see the shape it was in. The steps on the slide area had rusted and there were no toys or anything out there, she said its because they havent been going outside. Although the state requires the children to go outside above 40° they do not take them out at all. On our way back up we passed the kitchen and I noticed rusted SOS pads around the kitchen sink. This daycare charges $175 a week thats such a high price for the condition it is in. I would not recommend it and I would not let my child go there at all even if it was cheaper. Also, they dont give a week vacation like all the other day cares. They only give 50% off so if you wanted to go on vacation with your child you would still have to pay that week.

Lacole Roth Wonderful staff! Everyone is so informative and sweet my daughter has such a good time when she is there and it seems like everyone really cares for the children they are over! Over all I’m very happy with this day care!!
