Nerissa Scott This establishment is a great place for your child/children to be. They genuinely take great care my little one. He is shown so much care and the educational programs are great for him. He enjoys classroom activities as much as being outdoors.
Thank you to everyone staff member for your continued service.

nikki thrower I enrolled my 3-year-old son at Destiny Starr Academy after I had to leave a great daycare due to scheduling conflicts. I was hesitant from the start, and unfortunately, my concerns turned out to be valid. He only lasted there about three months.
Red flags began immediately:
• All the security cameras hanging in the rooms were fake.
• High staff turnover: My son had a different caregiver almost every week. Most of them were young (18–21 years old), with little experience and no children of their own. There was no consistency or trust being built with the kids.
Incident 1: My son came home with a knot on his forehead. The staff claimed a teacher accidentally shut a door on him while he was running behind her. They applied ice but downplayed the incident in their report, simply saying he “ran into a door.” I asked them to correct the report with full details—they refused.
Incident 2: A week later, they told me my son was hitting his head on his cot. I asked for video or proof—none was provided. Then they claimed he was hitting his head on the playground. Again, they documented it but gave no real explanation or evidence. I offered to bring in a therapist to observe him if needed.
Incident 3: The final straw came just one week later when they told me my son hit his head again and was no longer allowed to return—no prior warning, no discussion, just an immediate dismissal.
I informed them that my son is in the READY Program (a part-time elementary school program to help him and support his learning), and I was actively looking into getting support, including having a therapist sit in with him while he’s at daycare . But they showed no interest in working with us or supporting his needs.
Additional issues:
• The daycare was not clean.
• The environment was chaotic and unorganized.
• Staff were unreliable and not properly trained.
I took my son to his primary care doctor the next day after and they are now reviewing how this daycare handled his situation and will be following up.
I do not recommend Destiny Starr Academy to anyone. This was a terrible experience for my child and for me. He was treated unfairly and without compassion or professionalism.
