5 /5 Laura Ashley: I would never have expected to find such a unique gem in the middle of Buchanan, GA. Moonie Mart leveled up the “convenience store” experience and offers, not only interesting and delicious scratch-made treats but also, a warm and inviting in-person experience where you really do leave feeling like family. It’s clear that, beyond being a money-making venture, Moonie Mart’s mission includes forming genuine connections with the people in the community it serves.
So, go grab a soft serve or a cup of coffee and sit and chat a while : ) If Grant (the founder/owner) is there, I highly recommend picking his brain about his vision, the products and their stories (as well as his other projects— he’s a really interesting guy, one of those people who seems to have lived 20 lifetimes in the time most people only live 1).
As far as products go, here’s what my first haul included:
- Red Fox Farm Natural Handmade Soap (Mountain Cabin scent): this is my new favorite scent. It feels like I’m forest bathing in the comfort of my own shower, and it’s so beautiful and artistically presented (I forgot to get a photo)
- Maggie Lyon Milk Chocolate Pecan Toffee: this is a gift, so I haven’t tasted it : )
- Grand Provisions Creamy Milk Hot Cocoa: this is also a gift, so I haven’t tasted it.
- Beautiful Briny Sea, “Hot Steve” Spicy Chile Salt: I haven’t tasted it yet, but I’m stoked!
- Evergreen & Market “The Ghost Pickle” pickles: I get my kicks from spicy food, and these definitely have a kick! They’re super flavorful!!
- Evergreen & Market “The Spicy Okra” picked okra: I haven’t opened these yet, but if they’re anywhere near as good as the ghost pepper pickles, I’m confident they will be amazing!
If you can’t tell, I’m super impressed with my visit, and it was absolutely worth going a bit out of my way to check out. I’ll definitely be back!
