Vanns Tavern Park - Gainesville (GA)

5 /5 Anthony Divinagracia: A fantastic tucked-away park located right off of Georgia Route 369. The park gets its name from the Tavern/House of Cherokee Chief James Vann which was moved to New Echota in Calhoun, GA in 1956 when Lake Lanier was starting to fill up. The original location is currently hundreds of feet under the waters of Lake Lanier. This park has several boat ramps and docks. A wooden pavilion and several park benches offer fantastic views of Lake Lanier and a sandy beach for swimmers and sunbathers to enjoy. Would love to come back during the summer.

5 /5 Jennifer: Hidden gem of a spot for sitting by the water. It was so lovely at sunset. Not huge park by any means but a grassy area overlooking the water and another couple spots down a couple trails where you can sit on a rock and enjoy. Huge parking lot. Great boat ramps.

4 /5 Amanda Barnett: This is a good place to put your boat in Lake Lanier. It also has a small pavilion to sit and look at the lake. It was a bit trashed when we arrived in the evening. I wanted to pick up the litter but the trash can also was full.

4 /5 Seth Sorano: Simple park with a short nature trail to the left and a boat ramp, dock, and nature trail loop to the right. In the middle are plenty of parking, benches, and a small wooden pavilion. I did not see a grill present. Nice sandy beach areas appear when the water levels are low. Thats pretty much it.

4 /5 craig lee: Great weather today 7 4 18 . A lot of people but plenty of room for everyone. Water level is very high so swimming was great. Boaters and jet skis. People cooking out and eating great food. The best view of a huge expanse of lake. Just beautiful
