5 /5 Carol Kerr: Going on the Tiny Doors tour with Karen and then seeing the Tiny Doors studio was a wonderful experience! You will only see a handful on this tour, but you will take away tones of fascinating information! The tiny doors are absolute gems in Atlanta, something that no other city has. And to hear Karen talk about how she landed on the idea for the tiny doors, and what it takes to locate and create one, is really impressive. I learned a bit about what it takes to create a public piece of art and all the thoughts that go into each of the pieces. Weather, people, and other environmental things, along with ongoing maintenance, need to be taken into consideration. Karen also explained what she hopes her art evokes in those who get to view it. In addition, she talked about how some of the pieces have "changed" their surroundings. Very interesting! I dabble in art and a lot of what Karen talked about regarding her art has never crossed my mind. I found her to be fascinating and mindful of not just her art but the effect her art has on people and on the surrounding area. Visiting the Tiny Doors studio was an added plus. The studio is very cute, as it should be for such cute art projects, and it is very well organized which has to translate into efficient. I hope new Tiny Doors continue to pop up around the Atlanta area. They are all precious and I cant wait to see each other as they are installed. Thanks, Karen, for a magical morning!
