Obituary from 1898: "Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Howell. Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Howell, widow of Ashley V. Howell, died at her home at Black Springs, May 25th, 1898, aged 80 years, 8 months and 14 days. Waiting for the call of her Savior, she was stricken with paralysis on the 5th of May. She bore her afflictions with christian fortitude until God called her higher.
