1 /5 J C: We were offended and surprised by how Father Mike treated us on a Sunday during an event at St. Phillip’s function hall. He came in the room all of a sudden and started yelling and was very upset because someone mistakenly parked at their designated parking. We heard what he said the first time he said it but he continuously yelled “black Toyota parked back there!!!!!” with red face and wide eyes. Guests were already searching who was parked there BUT he yelled like we did not understand what he was saying. Did he think we are some immigrants that don’t understand English?! He was not aware that there was a retired judge in the room, there were accountants, doctors, engineers, nurses, and several professionals in the room. We can all understand and speak English!!!! And we understood how rude he treated us and how rude he treated the lady that parked at his designated parking when she apologized to him while moving her car. BUT THE INTERESTING PART WAS, AFTER SHE MOVED HER CAR, NOBODY PARKED THERE FOR HOURS.
So please explain, what was the reason for the aggravated displease of mistakenly parking there if no one needed to park there right away??!!
We are Catholic parishioners near Jonesboro and sometimes would come attend mass at St. Phillip Benizi BUT after this incident, how and why are we going to come join or attend mass at St. Phillips if the head of church treats people this way?
And he said in his message on their website “Come, reach out, connect with us in any way that works best for you. Know that you are welcome and loved!”. REALLY???!!!! And priests are suppose to be the one to preach forgiveness. His actions says otherwise, it was unholy to say the least….
