1 /5 Nallely Lepiz: My recent experience at Rapunzels Salon was nothing short of a nightmare. My mom, sister, and I walked in for our scheduled appointment, only to be greeted with confused looks as if they werent expecting us, despite making a reservation two days prior. The staff then directed us to the back without any proper greeting.
The hairdresser, Jesse, who made the reservation herself, asked us what services we needed as if she had no clue. She split us up without introducing us to the stylists who would be taking care of us, making us feel completely disoriented. I was sent to a back room by one of the numerous roaming assistants to change into a cape, feeling rushed, overwhelmed, and lost.
When it came to discussing my hair, the assistant asked me to show a picture of what I wanted so she could relay it to the main hairdresser. She then disappeared and returned only with the dye mix, without further discussing the process, cost, or duration. It was only then I learned that Jesse would be doing my hair, but she didnt explain anything before her assistant prepared the dye.
The final straw was the exorbitant price of $430 to dye my hair without bleach or any specific style, which was absurd compared to nicer salons that charge less for both cut and color. When I expressed that it was out of my price range, Jesses attitude became even more unpleasant. She insisted I pay for the dye her assistant had mixed without my consent, initially demanding $300 just for the dye.
After reluctantly agreeing to let her dye as much of my hair as she could for the $150 that the dye mixture was supposedly worth, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of her work. Jesse barely dyed a strip down the middle of my hair, ignoring the front half, sideburns, and surrounding areas, leaving me with a ridiculous skunk-like stripe.
The lack of professionalism, transparency, and customer care was appalling. Jesses unfriendliness and uncooperative nature made the experience even worse. To add insult to injury, she seemed to be making up prices as she went along, showing a clear disregard for customer satisfaction.
Rapunzels Salon failed spectacularly in providing a welcoming, professional, and transparent service. I would not recommend this salon to anyone seeking a pleasant and fair-priced hair appointment. Save yourself the trouble and find a salon that truly values its customers.
