1 /5 Daniel Hampton: We found ourselves back in Georgia after many years and rather than scheduling a flight back to Colorado or waiting until we return, we thought we would visit this practice out of convenience, since our children were due for their 6 month dental cleanings and we previously used this practice 6 years ago.
Problems seemed to arise as soon as the hygienist assigned to our youngest son entered the room. She didnt introduce herself, asked if there were any concerns and rudely an unprofessionally replied, "I aint the doctor!" when given the single concern, conducted a 2 min "cleaning" to fulfill what she thought was the insurance claim requirement, never addressed our one concern about flossing, and even applied an unknown substance during the process, completely ignoring all professional training surrounding patient awareness and informed consent. The DDS visit was all of 30 seconds with her calling out two sections for notation and then promptly leaving the chair without relaying the information.
We had to inquire with the front desk in order to even learn what the substance was and received a rude reply that "Its just vitamins! We always do it!". Well im not sure what dental school trained these hygienists and DDS but patient informed consent applied to vitamins as well.
Promptly filled a fraud notice with our insurance company and the complaint with the Director of the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
We will pay the little extra cash and fly back to Colorado for any future pediatric dental needs. At least we will get a meal on the flight and great service from our providers back in Colorado.
I strongly advise against using this practice. This practice is a shining example of why Georgia ranks last for healthcare in America. This practice not only wasted our time but now they wasted our money because we will need to pay out of pocket for a reputable practice to perform a proper cleaning, examination, and flights to a from the practice.
