3 /5 Avera Matthews: Jessica is not very professional but is knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. I believe my session was rushed and I wasn’t very taken care of. She mentions that she deletes criticism from her Style Seat reviews, so I’m hoping that leaving a review here doesn’t warrant her to do so. As it was my first time having waxing services, I was hoping I could find someone honest. When I saw how wonderful her reviews were (5 stars among almost 1000 reviews), I thought this woman could do no wrong! Haha, but she let me know that she deletes critical reviews and leaves the good ones up. That’s not what reviews are for!
She also did not tell me she would charge me right away, as I wanted to pay cash. She tapped the payment through Style Seat and it immediately charged my account. I wasn’t upset, but I was like darn, alright.
I arrived a few minutes late due to personal issues, which I had told her before hand. She let me know what I could do and allowed me to come anyways. When I arrived, she gave me the service she could provide and I’m thankful but I still felt very rushed and as if I was not a priority.
I was really trying to find the best person around for these services, and it seems she is probably the best in Albany, but I think it’s worth searching for somewhere outside of the area for larger waxing services. The prices are also a bit outrageous, mine were more expensive because of the holidays, but for a Brazilian wax that usually ranges from $30 to $50 in areas surrounding Atlanta, I was expected to pay $67 plus a tip for a full Brazilian wax. Rent is expensive and services like these are difficult to maintain a business with, but in my review I’d like to respectfully say that $80 for a Brazilian (even around holidays) is a bit much. Also, I would like to note that if you do not leave a tip on her Style Seat within 24 hours, it automatically selects a 20% tip (it keeps your bank account info when you set up an appointment through it). This also allows more people to leave reviews since it occurs in the same process as leaving a tip, hence the abundance of positive reviews on that site.
Edit:
I let you know that I would be late and you assured me that I could come anyways, and I was very thankful, as I didn’t want to pay roughly $80 in cancellation fees. I’m very thankful. In my review I just mentioned prices that I’ve seen in reference to sugaring for Brazilian waxes, I knew what I agreed to. I just thought you were exactly what I was looking for. You mentioned during my appointment that you “only kept” one bad review on StyleSeat, so I assumed you were able to delete the critical ones… but maybe I was wrong for assuming when you said that to me…
I appreciate your thorough response. I did know about StyleSeat’s policies. I did agree to autopay when I signed for the appointment (because I had to in order to make an appointment there) but I didn’t expect you to charge my card when I specified in an email that I would pay in cash and mentioned it on the phone. That part was not a big deal, I just didn’t expect that type of transaction. I could have been the person to ask you to cancel, but I didn’t want to make it any more complicated than it was that day.
Thank you for your time in replying.
