Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens - Hiawassee (GA)

5 /5 Natasha Burnett: I absolutely love visiting this place when all the flowers are in bloom. Ideally I try to make it twice. Once so I can smell the native Azaleas in bloom. Then again during the peak of the Rhododendron bloom. I love all the varieties that they have. The bushes are so old that they are huge!!! It feels almost unreal walking through them. There are so many great spots to sit and relax now. They added a lot of new benches throughout the gardens. It makes it easier to take your time and just enjoy the beauty.

5 /5 Christina H: This is a great spot to spend couple hours enjoying nature. The trails are lively and well maintained, and the views of both the forest and the lake simply cannot be beat. They are open daily from 8am to sunset, and have a suggested donation of $2. Thry also offer free guided tours by goldcart for those with mobility issues. Simply call ahead to schedule. I look forward to visiting again and again throughout the seasons to see how the scenery changes.

5 /5 Tim Siegel: A true gem. In mid to late April this is stunning, with rhododendron and azaleas and dogwoods. The rest of the year its still a beautiful park open to the public, with a variety of trees and flowers. Great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

5 /5 Susan Ferrell: What a beautiful place especially when the Rhododendrons are blooming. The caretaker , Catherine is wonderful, she helped my mom with a golf cart to get her to our car. Great opportunity to purchases plants.

5 /5 Glenn Roberts: Hamilton Gardens is a great place for your outdoor wedding! The staff goes way out of their way to make the day special and beautiful. We love visiting the gardens for a walk or Thursday evening acoustic sunsets. Check their site as they often have an activity going on. When in Hiawassee or Young Harris, go take a stroll through the gardens. A true gem in the mountains!
