I believe over the 40 days is that you were experienced a great connection with God and a deeper appreciation for prayer and fasting. The goal of prayer is to live our lives and speak our words in joyful awareness of the presence of God. This is what Jesus did. He lived his whole life in the conscious awareness of his father.
