Springfield Baptist Church - washington - Washington A MOORE: I am a LONG TIME MEMBER of Springfield Baptist Church. So many of you who read my assessment might, with cause, think that input is biased. Well, let it be! The facts are, Springfield is the Mother Church to many of the churches in and around Wilkes County, A place that belongs in the important history of black Americans lives. Mother Springfield served this county by providing a place for Baccalaureate services, High School graduation services and as the Community Center for many gatherings of the black American community before our newly built and designed inferior school of 1957. I also believe that there is not one black American child in Washington, GA, who graduated before 1970 and did not attend the Springfield Baptist Church Vacation Bible School. Oh yes!! Springfield Baptist Church is one of the GREAT CHURCHES that gave and still gives to our community because we are a church that teaches caring and sharing!! MAY GOD BLESS US ALL!
