1 /5 Diana Lopez: At my favorite pho place I know exactly what I am getting: rich broth, generous portions, and authentic flavor. I decided to break my routine and try this spot because of its high Google reviews, but clearly those reviewers have not had good and authentic pho.
I ordered the pho tai and was stunned at how far off the mark it was. The portion was tiny compared to other places in the area yet the price was the same. The broth was lifeless and bland with zero depth, and there was no salt anywhere, only “seasoning sauce” which is not a replacement. The noodles were wrong from the start, fettuccine style, overcooked, soggy, and waterlogged, plus my meat was freezer burned.
For the same price I could have enjoyed a large flavorful bowl at countless other places. Yes, the decor is beautiful, but it is all for show, style over substance. If you want an Instagrammable background maybe this is your place. If you want actual pho go anywhere else. In the end, the soup was so bad I could not finish it. I will not be back.
