Skyline Bistro & Bar - Cartersville (GA)

3 /5 Abel Morales: The restaurant is a beautiful rooftop that is modern with a nice view. There are a decent amount of TVs to watch sports and this evening, they had live music. My biggest gripe is the lack of quality of food. For such a nice space and the prices on the menu, I was expecting higher quality food. The mozzarella sticks and meatballs tasted like frozen foods from the store. The chicken tenders were the same - my kids didnt like the Mac and Cheese either. The fries were undercooked. The only decent items on the menu were the burger and fettuccine Alfredo. My suggestion is to come here to grab cocktails but I wouldnt eat dinner or lunch here again.

4 /5 Greg rock: We visited for a late lunch in a nice Sunday. Several tables were occupied but not busy. We were seated right away and took advantage of the nice weather and sat outside. Alina took care of us and started us off with drinks. I had the element and my wife had the peachy spritzer. Both drinks were served quickly and both were good, however, we liked the element better. Im not much of a gin drinker, but this drink was a good blend of gin, rum and another i cant remember what, but the drink was well prepared. Moving on to the food, I had the grilled chicken with bourbon glaze and sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus. She had the spinach parm ravioli. The chicken was moist and the glaze was a nice addition without being overwhelming. The asparagus was cooked just about perfect for me. I like it with just a bit of crunch and this was just a little over, but still very good. The spinach parm was cooked just right with the pasta not mushy or over hard. Overall the food was great and service was outstanding. The two things that I didnt prefer was the automatic 18% gratuity on ALL checks regardless of size. This may be a deal breaker for us in returning. I tip 20% for acceptable service and more for great service. Is it really gratuity if youre forced to pay it? The other thing was we were brought plastic utensils. I feel like this is more of a disservice to the food then anything else. Kind of like drinking a great scotch in a solo cup. Other then those 2 things, we enjoyed it.

5 /5 Gabriel Cain: Finally got here to check it out and so glad we did! Our server, Alina was AMAZING! Id highly recommend her when you pop in, she knows the menu and does a great job with attentiveness at the table. Food was absolutely on point and the beer was cold :) We had a brussell sprout appetizer (it will shock you!) Nashville Hot chicken strips and Cajun chicken fettucini, and all of it was perfect!

4 /5 Barry M: I wanted to give this place 5 stars for effort, but I need to be honest. We will make another visit here in the near future and hopefully it will live up to my expectations at that time. We arrived early as we had some business nearby. It was about 5:30 and we were the only customers for a while. I assumed that it would be busier later. But also there was not much activity on the playing fields so maybe that held down the crowds some. The manager went into a lot of detail about the specials. He mentioned the catfish and I immediately decided that was it. My wife ordered the salmon and we had a couple of drinks. And the atmosphere and scenery was quite enjoyable. After a while, our server came out and told me that they were out of catfish. I was thinking that could not be possible as we were the only customers at the time. But she then said that the manager misunderstood what they had available. So I was thrown off a bit as I was looking forward to the catfish special. I couldnt think of anything so I ordered the loaded fries. I added ground beef to it really make it a hearty selection. But I could only eat about 1/3 of it. The fries soon became mushy and while I do like spicy food, there were too many jalapeno peppers even for my taste. My wife thought the salmon was ok. Oh, and after a while, the manager came by to say there was a misunderstanding and that catfish is indeed available. But it was too late. But the beer and wine was good and the atmosphere was great. Our server offered to remedy the situation by offering dessert, she described an apple pie and ice cream that sounded pretty good. But I was still slightly annoyed and said no thanks. But as I was paying, she brought me a boxed apple pie - with ice cream to go. OK, I appreciate the effort. We stopped at the nearby Starbucks where I ate the apple pie before the ice cream melted- and it was very good! Maybe she thought we were staying in the attached hotel. I didnt mention that you have to go through the hotel lobby and take the elevator to the roof. But that wasnt a big deal. Overall, we did enjoy the evening.
