Scotts BBQ - Athens (GA)

4 /5 S M Sander: Lots of people lime my 278th BBQ restaurant. But my long held position is pulled is better than chopped so chopped gets a deduction. The sauce was good, BBQ was at least tender and and a decent portion. Didnt do sides as the selection was slim, but the added slaw was ok. But as for wholes in the wall, its a place to stop if your in the area of Hull/North Athens and you dont want to venture down to Butt Hut or Smokehouse. The price was good too.

5 /5 J. M.: Never knew this place existed and I live less than two miles away! Read about it on a UGA football message board online and decided to give it a try. The pork was amazing. Extremely tender and flavorful... The $4 sandwich was a perfect appetizer before my rib plate. Ribs were delicious... Not as tender as the pork, but still very good. Sauce options were simple: Hot or Mild. Went with Hot and it was a good choice. Just a little bit of kick but not flaming/overpowering... Several side options: collards, baked beans, mac and cheese, an excellent hash (they gave me two more helpings), and a surprisingly good cole slaw. Sweet tea was standard... Very sweet. Dining area is very small. Four booths and an old fashioned lunch counter as soon as you walk in the door. Cash or check only. Prices are very reasonable. Well definitely be back to try the $25 sampler platter (didnt bring enough cash!)

5 /5 Sam Gravitt: Absolutely fantastic food with excellent portion sizes! The sides were delicious and we tried nearly every single one. Baked beans, mac and cheese, collards, potato salad, cornbread, and a killer hash. The great food combined with friendly and hospitable staff solidifies a 5 star rating. This place is genuinely worth trying and certainly worth my time to leave a review. Cash or check only so come prepared! (hash, collards, and cornbread pictured)
