5 /5 Alton David Mullinax: Nice little place, they make their own dough. We missed the pizza buffet, but we got a meatball sub combo and a piggy sticks combo. They made a really nice sandwich with a lot of meatballs, and seems to be their own baked bread. The piggy sticks was cheesy breadsticks with bacon. The brownies were only 1.50 so we got one too.

5 /5 Larry Ballard: When it comes to Detroit-style pizza , the options are slim. When it comes to good Detroit style pizza ( outside Michigan or high priced boutique pizzerias ) the list is even shorter . Papa’s Pizza To Go belongs right up at the top of that list . I ordered online , and the ordering process was easy , and allowed almost infinite customization, so much that I was able to order my square pan pizza with triple pepperoni and triple cheese . Upon arrival I received a warm greeting and engaged in friendly banter with the awesome staff . They even took the time to make sure my pizza was how I wanted it because I’m the first person to order triple cheese ! It was perfect , btw . The crust was crisp to bite into and then chewy , like a good Detroit style pizza should be , with that awesome caramelized cheese around the outside . The pepperoni was ample and browned crisp adding dimensions of flavor . The guy at the counter ( owner ? ) was telling me they make their dough and sauce fresh daily and it shows . I’m a bit of a pizza snob , and I’ve been mulling over trying this place for quite a while … today I just took the plunge . Boy am I glad I did . The experience was seamless end to end , great pizza , great prices , great people . Highly recommended.

2 /5 Andrew Kennelly: Staff wasnt friendly. I walked in and said I had a group of 8 and asked if we could put a couple of tables together and the guy tells me "the buffet is closed now". Weird...I didnt ask if the buffet was open. But I did want to order 3 pizzas. No one came over with a menu or said we needed to order at the counter. Just let us sit there. I ordered 3 pizzas but the girl at the front only put my order in for two. I said I wanted 7 waters and one soda. She charged me for $2.49 each for water cups and never said "we charge for water cups". The pizza was ok, but Papa Johns would have been more consistent, less money, and better service. My advice would be to teach the staff some customer service. We definitely wont be back.
