3 /5 Debrann Mitchel: With the exception of the under-seasoned fried chicken and the soggy macaroni and cheese the food was indeed soulful and delicious. The green beans appeared as though they had come out of a can, but were well seasoned. However, all the other side dishes looked to be homemade, including the chopped collard greens, black-eyed peas, sweet potato casserole, butter beans, green bean casserole, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and white rice. Served alongside was a rather ordinary cornbread, and white dinner rolls (which I didn’t try).
My husband, infant granddaughter, and I visited on a Sunday afternoon around two, when the service was slow, and there was only the lady at the register also waiting tables, but the restaurant was sparsely populated so it worked out alright.
The building is old, and so are the facilities, but they were clean and well stocked.
