4 /5 Karl Leibensperger: We stumbled upon this place whike driving hungry through the town and nothing else was open. We were the only ones in line which gave me pause, but after we tucked in to the very delicious fried chicken the line got long with locals waiting their turn. The service was very friendly and I liked both the sweet tea and fresh tasting coleslaw I ordered with the chicken. Tea refills are free while still there I was told. They have other fried foods as well, like mullet, catfish and shrimp.
Prices were much better than the chain we stopped at a few days before and the bathroom was clean. One big "bugaboo" was the gnats. Apparently the area is known for them and when we sat at the outside table a man was already sitting there with a screen hanging from his hat to thwart the gnats. Maybe better to get your food to go.
