5 /5 Jack Armstrong: I recently stopped in at Huey Magoo’s in Monroe, and I have to say—it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a young lady at the counter who was so genuinely friendly and welcoming that even Chick-fil-A might have to step up their game. Her kindness set the tone for the visit, and it didn’t stop there.
I ordered the 3 Tender Combo (fried) with homemade potato chips, and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. The chips were a great touch—crispy, golden, and clearly made in-house. It’s the kind of comfort food that hits the spot without feeling overly greasy.
The staff all worked quickly and efficiently, but what stood out the most was that every single one of them smiled and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. That energy made the whole place feel upbeat and welcoming.
I also tried the watermelon sweet tea on a whim, and wow—I didn’t expect to like it that much! It was refreshingly different and paired well with the meal.
Huey Magoo’s has earned a return visit from me. Highly recommended!
