5 /5 Heath Curl: We are staying here at the resort and figured wed stay close to the room. This was just a walk down the hallway. We were greeted by Tamika who was wonderful and personable. She started off our experience great. We sat at the bar where Lias was the bartender. She had a steady flow of people and seemed to know the locals which was nice to observe how she interacted with them. There were two items on the menu we wanted but due to a kitchen remodel they were not serving them which was a bummer. It was the steak frites and the fried green tomatoes. We opted for the Pimento cheese dip, which in our opinion was about a 4. For it being homemade it should have had something that maybe set it apart from what you could get in the cheese section at the grocery store. I personally woukd have added a little blackened seasoning to it to elevate the flavors. The presentation was nice and It was warmed but not scolding. I ordered the steak tacos and my husband ordered the fish and chips (were not big fish eaters and this was his first time ordering it). The steak tacos were delicious, the meat was well seasoned, the cilantro crema was delicious but my favorite part was the pickled Bermuda onions. Packed with flavor and really pulled everything together. The fish and chips were really good too. With not much to compare it with we felt it was good. The fries it came with were great! We both ordered drinks, I got the pussers painkiller which was delicious and I could have chugged it. Presentation was nice too. My husband got the dragon orchard and he too enjoyed that. We definitely felt the drinks with just having one (were not big drinkers). They did have quite a selection of bourbon. Overall the dinner was nice, the atmosphere was busy-personal, meaning there was enough traffic to people watch but not so busy to where you couldnt have a private conversation. Lisa and Tamika really set this experience up for success.
