4 /5 The Sneaky Spoon: We had a great experience here. The server and hostess were both very friendly, and although the bathroom was in a somewhat unusual location, everything else made up for it. The place can get busy any night of the week, and since it’s on the smaller side, it fills up quickly. Parking is your typical downtown-square setup—busy and a bit limited—but manageable with a little patience.
We started with the duck fries, which were fantastic. We’re not even big collard greens people, but the dish was rich, flavorful, and honestly could’ve been a meal on its own.
For entrées, we tried the Fresh Prince Philly and the medium Southern Charm burger. The Philly was really good, and the side of grits was so delicious—there’s definitely some creative magic happening in that recipe. The burger itself was tasty, though it could’ve used a bit more pepper jelly. The huge portion of sweet potato fries with honey created a perfect sweet-and-salty combo.
We finished with the special honey nut crunch cheesecake, which was just as interesting as it was delicious. The layers had great flavor and made for a fun twist on a classic dessert.
Overall, it was a fun outing, and if we’re ever passing through again, we’d definitely stop back in.
