1 /5 Hope: I visited recently and want to share this for anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions. The staff were kind and showed me the corn tortillas, and they changed their gloves when I asked. (ALSO, the food is delicious. This is not a mean review, just informing folks) However, the food was still prepared on the same grill used for gluten-containing items. The grill was only scraped, not separated or cleaned in a way that prevents cross-contact.
I became very sick that night and have continued to feel sick for several days, which is common with celiac disease. For people with celiac or severe allergies (including those at risk for anaphylactic shock), even small amounts of cross-contact can cause serious reactions. Please be cautious if you have these conditions.
Since they’ve expanded from a food truck to a sit-down restaurant, I hope they’ll consider setting up a dedicated space or separate grill/fryer for allergy-safe preparation. Many restaurants do this, and it makes a huge difference for people with celiac disease or other serious allergies.
Until they’re able to create a truly separate prep area, this may not be the safest option for anyone with gluten issues or other food allergies. Just sharing my experience so others can make an informed choice.
