Nika B I only go with my girls because they attend the American Heritage Girls troop meetings there, but my experience has been great. Seems they offer alot to the community by looking at the flyers and brochures in their lobby.

J P Wonderful Christian atmosphere. They really reach out to the local community in many kind ways. At Christmas they hosted a beautiful cantata of interdenominational singers along with a bountiful snack afterwards and had 2 candlelight vigils on Christmas Eve which was very heartwarming! As a newcomer, I felt very welcomed and at ease. I loved the extra time they took for the children up front during their service. Ive really appreciated this church.

Tina Black I have never been to this chirch for meetings. But i do know they really do their part in the community as far as helping those in need. I have been their several times for help for myself and others. Each time Ive been their I have been met by the friendliest bunch of ladies you would ever want to meet. They dont make you feel less than themselves. My feeling of this church is if they can be that nice to strangers, theyve got to be much more wounderful to their fellow goers.This is a church a plan to visit.

Nell Wilson This once beautiful Methodist church on Short Street now appears abandoned. It has been boarded up and gutted and much of the clear and colored glass is missing or broken. There IS an active St James AME church on Funderburg Drive, in the next block one street over. The cemetery contains graves of members born in the mid to late 1700s. Family plots include names of Meriwether, Grover, Ezell, Smith and Bradley. The cemetery was trimmed and mown in November, so thats good. Wrought iron-work fences enclose some family plots. Most of the gates are stuck shut but most all of the graves are easy to view. Thank you Monticello for watching over this old beauty.
