Everyone truly cares for each other, and they will love your kids like their own. Pastor Jon holds amazing services morning and night on sundays and does Wednesday night bible study (every service is amazing). My boys LOVE children’s church and every teacher that is in there! We just all around love this church!

R B Great little church in The Athens, GA area. The preacher, Dan, is great at "rightly dividing" (2 Tim. 2:15). He knows what parts of the Bible are for us and what parts are directly to us. Definitely a great place to worship.

No matter which congregation I attend, they have all made me and my family feel welcome and loved just like our Savior Jesus Christ makes us feel. Roger P We visited this church for the first time today. We met some wonderful people, and heard the gospel taught with clarity and with the spirit of truth. The building is large but the groups that meet are small, about 100. The hymns were accompanied by a very skilled organist, it was great to be there.

His genuine demeanor and sincere delivery headline memorable sermons. The entire community is littered with wonderful, kind people. If you’re looking for a church to call home, I highly recommend giving Watkinsville First Baptist a look!

Rebecca I have been connected to WFBC for well over a decade. Both my kids were born into this church and when my parents relocated to the area, they also got plugged in. We represent 3 generations at a church full of opportunities for growth in the Christian walk, worship, and service. The music is phenomenal and Bible-centered and the pastor is a humble, servant-leader who is personable despite the church’s size and unapologetically dedicated to the relentless preaching of the Word. Opportunities for community and missions abound and genuine love for both God and others radiates here.

Jim C Very engaging & welcoming community of believers of Jesus Christ. They have a great childrens ministry with caring and loving staff and teachers. Church is a diverse community of young and old and from different ethnicities which is very refreshing. They worship with and without musical instruments. Loved the message on spiritual giving.

There is always a desire to grow and meet needs, and small groups are very helpful in building close relationships. Highly recommend.

I have lived in the athens area my entire life and i do not recommend this church. they do not believe in family values and will try to influence senior citizens in their membership to make decisions that hurt the rest of their families. please err on the side of caution when choosing this predatory church.

Nik Nikolov The only Orthodox Church in Athens, GA area. Very convenient, just off of GA 316 (take Julian Dr., right on Mars Hill Rd.). The services are predominantly in English, as most of the congregation is made up of American converts to Orthodoxy, with the occasionally sprinkling of eastern Europeans and Greeks, and a sizable contingent of college students during the school year. Sunday school for the kids, various celebrations throughout the year (did I mention the food?!), and overall great opportunities to enrich ones faith and see what the original Christian faith is all about. A rental hall for weddings and events (affordable) is also available.
