They’ve recently moved to a new site (out of the Botanical Garden, to downtown) because they are growing too large for that space. My family and I have been part of this community since 2017 and have been members almost as long.

Walker Martin 3:00 p.m. worship is lively and engaging. The church is conservative and mildly reformed. Sermons are detailed and thought provoking. 10/10 would attend again.

Everything from the singing to the sermon was fantastic but most importantly - Biblical. Also, the members of the Clarke County C.o.C. were among the kindest, most welcoming folks weve ever met. You can see their love for God but also each other and even their brothers and sisters theyd never met. We appreciate every person there and will keep this find congregation in our prayers that they continue to be a fine example of what the Lords church should be. Emilie I started going to this church regularly during the peak of the pandemic in 2020. They were meeting under a tent and requiring masks as a Covid precaution, as well as live-streaming the service. For a long time, I was one of the streamers, and didnt go in person. Once I was fully vaccinated, I began attending in person (my own decision - vaccination is not required to attend Calvary!). Now we meet inside, and masks are no longer required (but they are welcomed if you choose to wear one - I frequently do so). In the building or under the tent, this church has a vibrant glow about it, and you can tell its just somehow a little more alive than many other churches you may have been to in the past. Im a huge fan of the relaxed, family feel of this church, the involvement in the community, and of the diversity within the doors. You can come to Calvary wearing whatever you want - traditional clothes from your home country, a suit or dress, or jeans and a t-shirt. Youll be surrounded by a congregation that is diverse in age, race, and nationality. Ive never seen anyone look out of place. Pastor Thomas preaches the truth from Scripture in a relatable way that is honest, down to earth, and incredibly genuine about the human struggles we all go through and how walking with Jesus should impact our daily lives. And then Calvary works together to put this into practice and to encourage service within the church and in the community itself. I could go on, but it would be best if you just experienced Calvary for yourself. Check the website for current service times, and come visit us! Dez Partlow-Greer Pastor Sammy literally went above and beyond to make sure myself and my husband felt welcome. He took time out of his schedule to send me a welcome video. We came on a Sunday as well where they did a meet, and greet which was nice. We were able to talk with the pastor and his wife Brittany. We even saw some familiar faces which was nice. You are greeted in the parking lot, and when you get in the church. Also there’s free coffee. I love the small intimate feel. The church is held at the Athens cotton mill. Pastor Sammy said they come in early every Sunday, and set up the church. That’s impressive.

It’s small enough that you can get to know everyone but large enough so there is always someone new to meet. The diversity is amazing.
