LA Fitness - Decatur Mark Shuford: I got to enjoy this location today, while the toco hills location struggles with multiple pool equipment issues. This is a relatively newer location near the Emory Decatur hospital.
The staff was on site at opening time, which is not a given in my experience. The locker room is newer and cleaner than many others.
The pool area is also clean, although the water fountain was closed due to maintenance. The pool is a three lane pool with wide lanes, so sharing lanes is comfortable. The hot tub is average size and clean. The official swimsuit required sign is great and should be required at all clubs, since many people think its OK to jump in the pool or hot tub in their underwear or shorts. The temperature of both the hot tub and pool made for a less than perfect visit. The hot tub showed a temperature just over 100 while the pool was set at 85. Definitely, not the most pleasant swim or soak.
Relative to many other locations, this one gets 4 stars.
