3 /5 Phrozen KingAulos: As a professional whose work requires extensive travel across the United States, I selected Planet Fitness specifically for the convenience and flexibility afforded by the Black Card membership. I have been a loyal Black Card member for over eight years, during which I have greatly appreciated the consistent access and amenities offered across various locations nationwide.
One of my primary expectations as both a paying member and a business professional is the ability to complete efficient, uninterrupted workouts, especially when operating under tight schedules. Unfortunately, during a recent visit to the Valdosta, GA location, my workout was unnecessarily disrupted by an individual identified as Alfonso, who represented himself as the General Manager. He approached me with the assertion that I was violating a policy, yet when I respectfully requested clarification or documentation of the specific policy in question, he was unable to provide it. In response, I referred him to the clearly stated membership guidelines, which confirmed that I was well within the parameters of acceptable member conduct.
As someone who works in management myself, I hold customer service and respectful communication in high regard. Regrettably, at no point did Alfonso offer an apology. As the GM he should be well versed in all policies. This experience was disappointing and not in keeping with the level of professionalism I’ve come to expect from Planet Fitness over nearly a decade of membership.
I hope this matter is taken seriously, not only in the interest of retaining long-term members, but also in preserving the welcoming and judgment-free environment that Planet Fitness promotes.
