2 /5 Sandra Carter: Update to the following below: 3/27. Received a call from the manager. Said he would replace it for $600. I told him I only had it for two weeks, there should be no reason for it to happen. He then said they didnt feel at fault and then said "and you also left us a Google review and it feels like youre trying to bully us". When he said that, I felt uneasy and it to be the other way around. I explained to him I always leave reviews for everything, even Amazon, good or bad, and I told him I was very factual in my review and didnt at all think it was nasty, just factual. He then explained the heart shape diamond only has three prongs and it can happen easier than I think. My original ring ten years ago was a heart shaped diamond and that didnt happen in two weeks. It happened in five years after heavily wearing it, purchased at Kay Jewelers. He then told me about a week or so later to come in, because there would be two diamonds I can choose from. I asked him if it would be the same quality. Nope. First one was .77 ct, this one 75. The diamonds were ok but definitely not the same quality. I use to stare at my original ring. It shimmered with different hues. The ones he gave me to choose from looked duller and smaller. Considering I hadnt gotten insurance yet in the short time on the original diamond, I was at his mercy. I selected from the two and paid the $600. I went in with my husband. I also showed the manager that I bought a pink heart shaped $30 Amazon ring in the meantime to see if that stone would fall out. He nodded. He still charged me. He told me he would call me when it was mounted and ready to be picked up.
When I went to pick it up, he wasnt there. The lady who remembered the whole situation and sold me my original ring apologized again and was very kind. I thanked her and told her I would have been happier without being charged and her and I both know what the original diamond looked like, the quality. Her response: I know, was really surprised about that but then softened her statement by saying "probably because it was hard to get another one cut to the shape of a heart". I recorded both times. Recorder in purse, purse on the counter in case of any further surprises. I have pictures of the original.Im happy to have another stone but not in love with the beauty of it compared to the other. What was my Valentine Birthday present that meant the world to me, turned into a stressful nail biting event. This time, we got insurance immediately.

Original post:
I will edit the review as time goes by but for now, I will say we had a diamond ring on layaway for quite a long time. We picked it up on my birthday. In two weeks, the diamond was missing from the prongs. I was super paranoid with this ring. I often put it in jewelry box when doing yard work and was always looking at it. I loved it so much and waited ten years to replace my original engagement ring. We looked everywhere but there was no doubt it fell out when we went out for dinner. Theres NO reason this should happen so easily. It was there for the first part of the night and fell out sometime after. Noticed it when I got home. The staff has always been nice. So far the update from them is that they are trying to find a replacement. Ive been sick to my stomach and barely sleeping. Hoping this will be replaced soon
