1 /5 Jamie Butler: This is my second year with HLM and the customer care dropped drastically. My business returns were overlooked and HLM did not file an extension. I was charged $2640 in penalties from IRS because of their mistake. I had requested through email, phone and messages and assured all was good until it was not. If you are not a self advocator when it comes to filing taxes, or someone knowledgeable about different deadlines and what needs to be filed, I would not suggest HLM.
In hindsight, they say they cannot file my taxes until the bill is paid in full for their services, but I did not receive any billing statement from them until September which was over 6 months after I turned my corporate statements in. Here I was thinking they were behind on their billing when really, they had not filed my taxes. They did not communicate to me that there was an outstanding bill, nor did they say anything about penalties.
