1 /5 Mark Opel: Very, very disappointed with this local company. My wife and I have had Travelers Insurance for our primary residence through Chastain & Associates for 17 years with no claims. We recently received a letter from Travelers stating that our policy would not be renewed because we didn’t respond to their update requests in time. This came as a complete shock to us. It took over a week to get our agent/rep on the phone. When we finally did, she stated that they sent one email about the house back in April. One email! You’d think that a local company would at least send a letter or try to reach you on the phone when they hadn’t heard back in a reasonable amount of time but no, nothing. Our rep, Lauren, acted like “no big deal” we’ll just find you another policy. Naturally, I began shopping around to other agencies. We ended up replacing our existing primary home policy plus an additional rental house policy from Chastain and went with Allstate, who offered us policies on both homes for 1/2 the price we were paying at Chastain. I try to support local businesses when I can, but can’t express the disappointment we have after being local customers for 17 years. I’m glad we never had to make a claim, as I have no doubt now that it would’ve been a nightmare dealing with them to get paid. Do better Chastain, way better.
