1 /5 Valen Decker: A stiff breeze rolls through, and makes my power flicker several times, or completely go out. They are far too cheap to bury the power lines, like every other city around this god-forsaken place. We’re stuck up the creek, without a paddle, for hours when the power goes out, the several times a week, or month that it happens. I would give negative stars if possible, because this is the biggest joke of a “service” I’ve truly ever witnessed. If you have Amicalola EMC AND Windstream, may God have mercy on your soul.

5 /5 Sina McCullough: I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and respectful the process was with Amicalola Electric. After experiencing health symptoms related to the smart meter on our home, I called to request an opt-out. To my amazement, there was no push back at all. Within just two business days, our smart meter was replaced with an analog one. My entire family was shocked—and deeply grateful. Its rare these days to find a utility company that listens to individual health concerns and responds with such professionalism and care. I truly appreciate that Amicalola Electric took my request seriously and acted so promptly. Thank you for putting people first!

1 /5 Ride Of The Valkyrie: Everytime the power goes out, it takes more than 8 hours to get it back on. And it goes out every time there is a little rain and wind. Everything in the fridge has to be throw out everytime! And, we cant buy what was lost because the DG also has to empty their fridges. Its not just causing a financial hardship on individuals, we as a community are also suffering. Other power companies seem to be able to repair lines in a FRACTION of the time it takes Amicalola. The fact that consumers cant choose who their electric companies are causes this issue. They would be better to the consumer if they had to compete.

4 /5 Rick Nielsen: I appreciate the customer service; when I call, they are careful to understand the issue and have always addressed it satisfactorily. The outage map is a challenge to read and understand. We have several outages a year because of weather. I cannot fault the utility for the effects of mountain living on the power grid.

1 /5 Erik Haynie: I called last Friday to pay my bill and because the account was in my dads name and I didnt know the last 4 of his social security number they wouldnt give me the information I needed to make the payment so now here it is Tuesday March 12 and the bill still hasnt been paid and havent been able to make a special trip out there to pay it in person. They need to get with the program and make there payment options easier. Not good business.
